my 2yr old grandbaby can read,spell,count,sing,puzzles!!
I bought my grandaughter YBCR system before she was born. They started using the system at 3 mos and by 6 mos she was doing the motions to the words, by 9-10 mos she was reading 1/3 of words, by 14 mos she read ALL the flashcard words, 14 months old!!! Then she learned her abc's by herself with an educational toy i bought her. My son called me and said "that toy you got her must have taught her abc's because we didn't"! This system works, I'm telling you. I have videos on facebook of her reading, singing, spelling,counting and friends are totally amazed at her progress. I will see if my son will allow me to put videos online for all to see. She is now 24 mos old and can read, spell, count, sing MANY complete songs alone w/out help, and she does puzzles ALONE made for 4+ yr olds. This is the way America can become strong again is thru teaching our youth. I would give the YBCR system 10 stars but they only let me got to 5 stars tops! Great system and thank you for it!!

Near Perfect
This is a wonderful program...for children. Adults with low levels of patience will be grinding their teeth in a few minutes during the songs, but ignore them if you can - they're for the little one(s).The books are a delight for my 15-month-old daughter; she made me read the sliding picture one three times last night...then she tried to eat it, but it's tough enough for a few bites at least, if not more.Is there anything in our lives more important that giving our kids a good foundation in reading? Other than a wholesome, loving discipline towards what's right and wrong, I can't think of one.You will not be disappointed with this program - highly recommended.

Just started, and it looks promising
I just recently started my 18 months old (young) daughter, and although she hasn't started reading in one week, she does enjoy the movies and actually participates. Claps and waves and puts her arms up with the movie when instructed to. I don't expect magic and neither should you, but if you participate with them on this I believe it to be a wonderful teaching tool.

It works but it's kind of boring
We are now on Volume 2, the third DVD that my daughter has watched from this set. The Starter Video is the first, then Volume 1. She has all but lost interest at this point. I can't say that I blame her. It's kind of boring and a little bit too long. However, I don't have any better ideas. It's reading. So I think that, for teaching reading, they have done a good job.The video will show a word, say it twice, with an arrow going from left to right to indicate that you should read from left to right. Then they show a short a video of that word: "Eyes. Eyes." (Switch to video of a small child) "Marco, close your eyes!"At first my daughter watched it just like any other kid's show. Now, (after three months) she knows they will say the word twice, and she looks down while they are saying the words, and then looks up when they show the fun video part. So I have added flash cards that I show to her at other times. I made sure to write the words in lower...

Applaud to early learning device.
I got this for my son's first birthday. At first he had to get familiar with the dvd before he payed attention and started to enjoy it, but now he pays attention to most of it and actually seems to be learning words. He isn't verbal yet so it can be hard to tell what he's absorbing from the program and what he's not, but I do know he's participating, he's watching, and his little brain is a sponge. Even if I don't see stunning results right away, I can tell this is stimulating his language center much more than I'd know how to do on my own. I'm a fan of early learning when it comes to reading, so Your Baby Can Read gets my vote. My son and I just began viewing the 2nd dvd, and he took to it right away because he was already familiar with its style, and they reinforce the words he's already seen and heard. He loves the songs they put in there. The songs keep him watching when his attention drifts off a little. He loves to clap when he sees the word "clap" and wave when he sees "wave."...

My purpose is not to write a negative review but one based on the truth.1. My son did new words. He is speech delayed and the video helped him start talking by saying common words like "Duck."2. My son could recognize some words. However, he was not able to apply them. Example, he might be able to recognize elephant on the video but could not recognize it outside the video or flashcards. He couldn't apply it to the real world.3. My wife bought volume 1 for 20 or 25 dollars from a retailer in our area. You don't have to buy the big set with all the flashcards. If your thinking about this for your child I would suggest picking up a cheaper version (though not as complete) to see if it works for you first.4. The flashcards in my opinion are a joke. Unless your willing to keep control over them AT ALL TIMES a child under five will destroy them. For me, they are not worth the money.5. Where the creator of this products says you...

I considered buying this product for some time. I finally broke down and got it. It isn't bad, but you should really be watching the videos with your child and going over and reinforcing what they are learning. Since that is the case, you can just spend the time with your child and buy some flashcards or make your own. The videos are sort of mundane, but then again they're not funded by Disney or any other large corporation. I can definitely see how some people find great success with these videos and others not so much. This product can definitely work and help children recognize letters and words, but it does take time, work patience, and repetition. I would recommend starting at an early age since the videos are pretty routine, I can see how a toddler woudl get bored with them and wouldn't sitt through the videos.

Love it or Hate it
I think anyone trying out this program should buy only first DVD (as cheap as you can find it)and see how there kid does with it. I've heard many people say both sides of the coin. Kids seems to love it or hate it. Watch the entire program or lose interest with in the first few minutes. My child is in the 1st category. In fact shes watched at least once a day since she was about 3 months old and it now jumps and skips because it's been played so many times and I am here buying another copy of the DVD.

This is an amazing series for a kiddo who loves word world. we have all dvds andit took us time to collect them, this is great opportunity to save time and money.The best way to encourage a child to learn is to buy the words world animals justlike the ones in dvd. I highly recommend the famous Word World pull apart plush plush soft animals to go with it.The babies and kids love them so much. You can't get them anymore at storesbut if you are lucky you can come across the set on e bay.It is worth all the money as it helps a child to learn so fast so early so much.It is also amazing how much they sell for even used ones so it is good investment.Well worth the price.

Lost Interest
I bought this my 4month old baby to get her started on YBCR. She loves leapfrog alphabet factory and can sit for a full 15 min and watch the alphabets. After about 2 min with this video, she completely loses interest. It's not visually stimulating.

My daughter loves it!!!
It's been few months now since we bought it and my daughter loves it. She is remarkably smarter than kids her age. when she gives me hard time eating i play CD for her. she responds very well to the words. She claps before hearing the word clap (my daughter can read!). She loves the songs. I haven't swiched to step 2 yet because i want her to master step 1 first. I highly recommend it. It's a well organised program for kids of all ages(my daughter was 9 months when we bought it.

I love, love, love, love this program my son is two years old and we've been working with the dvd's and flash cards in the first volume for about a week and he can already recognize several of the words without seeing the pictures or hearing you say the word!!! my goal is to have him reading by pre-k and with this program it is totally within our reach!!! the only thing about buying it on amazon is you can get the exact same boxed set at walmart for $69 or you can buy one volume at a time for $25.......go to walmart.com and order it don't waste your money here.......I love amazon I do a lot of my shopping here but for this product save yourself a lot of money and check out walmart.com!!!!

We have been watching the dvd, 'Your Baby Can Read'. The new curtains are no longer new and they can be washed or dry cleaned to make them look new again. They talk and talk, and then talk some more. The TV remote control will invariably disappear from time to time. We just turn the volume down on the TV and do our own voice overs in English when the words appear on the screen. Educators consistently report that kids who were read to frequently and read frequently as a result perform significantly better in school than their non-reading peers. But if I have to pick the best book to read, it would be first all a children's BIBLE then next would be the your baby can read package deal. So I read to him only about 7x a wk. But after reading this article I am getting to it. But I will say his favorite books are ones that my parents got him from Hallmark. Hallmark has lots of options even ones where the kid can read/record themselves reading it to grandparents. They are the kind that you record yourself reading it, in this case it's his Nana & Papa reading. I started my son on it at 3 months (its DVDs & books and much more) I swear by it. I quit doing it about 2 months later cuz I saw a news report that it didn't work but NY son says complete sentences & has for the past month and he still reads the... So grab your baby's favorite MAM pacifier, snuggle under a blanket, grab a great book and start reading. Right now we are sticking with board books because she's too rough for paper pages, but once she is ready for those I can't wait to read her "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish" becasue it was definitely one of my favorites as a kid.
