Great laundry booster
I bought a case of six boxes of this from the manufacturer to get free shipping -- I use about 1/4 cup in my laundry with a little Borax and a TINY bit of laundry detergent. I'm surprised and pleased to find that even my oldest towels smell CLEAN and FRESH where before, even with line-drying outdoors in the sun, they smelled old and kind of sour. Where have they been hiding this stuff? It's great, worth every penny. Very highly recommended!

White towels white!
I was having trouble with my white towels getting yellow, blotchy stains. For years, I could not figure it out. Nothing worked. Finally... using a 1 to 1 ratio, I mixed one cup of Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda with one cup of 20 Mule Team Borax. I then added about three tablespoons of this mixture, along with a little bit of my regular detergent, per washing load, and "Voila" my towels were white. They smelled fresh and felt great! This mixture probably neutralized my water enough to release the stains. For a great price, you'll find this at all Walmarts ~~right next to the 20 Mule Team Borax. (I thank my daughter for the terrific idea...I now use it all the time.) My husband is the only one disappointed...he no longer has towels in his rag bag.

Good for homemade laundry soap ingredient
It's just baking soda on steroids. But unlike baking soda, this stuff is sodium carbonate, which has one atom instead of two, making it harsher than baking soda. So, don't eat it like you can do with baking soda, just clean with it. One thing I have noticed about washing soda as opposed to baking soda is it's much less powdery and dusty compared to baking soda.. That I really like.I recently discovered the joys of making and having my own laundry soap. Having this substance is essential for that process. It's also good as a non-toxic substitute for making other cleansers and as a laundry additive. It's especially helpful for those of us that live in hard water areas, because it helps to change polarity and keep hard water from staining and causing damage.I don't know about you guys, but I'm tired of using all those toxic cleansers. I don't even use chlorine bleach anymore.Those of you on here griping about the price of things when you write a review...

Not Just for Laundry.. Great Stuff
This stuff boosts the cleaning powder of whatever abluent you're using. I use it in laundry, but i also use it in the dishwasher to soften the water, and to clean the shower. It really does a great job on the shower. We live in a hard water area, so tackling hard water is important. It's like borax actually, but it's more related to baking soda. Unlike baking soda, it doesn't have that annoying powdery residue that baking soda has.Washing Soda is also a key ingredient to making your own laundry soap. I tried making my own laundry soap 4 months ago, and have been hooked on it ever since. Yes, I thought making your own laundry soap was stupid too, until I tried it.The brick and mortar stores have better prices on this stuff than Amazon does.

Works great
I just tried this in a recipe for home made laundry detergent1 bar Fels Naptha grated/shredded1 cup A&H SUPER WASH SODA 55 OZ1 cup Dial #00368 76OZ 20 Mule Team Boraxmix all ingredients and store in a air tight container and use 2 tablespoons at a time.It got the cloths clean and left them bright and fluffy. leaves no scent. It does not suds up but it does work

best stain remover on the planet
Fels-Naptha is the most amazing spot cleaner I have found and it's easy to use! It takes out grass stains, very oily stains, ring around the collar and even orange soda pop that has been on a t-shirt for 2 weeks. Just wet the problem spot and rub the wet soap bar into the bad stain. Once you have the spot all lathered up, rub the fabric too, like how the old fashioned scrub board was used. Throw the clothing in the washing machine. Remember heat sets the stain, so don't put the item in the dryer until you make sure the stain is really gone. Really bad items like fabric yellowed by age may take 2 treatments. I buy some really nice clothes at garage sales and thrift stores then treat the spots with Fels Naptha. It helps me have a fabulous wardrobe I wouldn't buy otherwise. This soap even works on silk. I find breaking the bar in half helps make it easier to use. I hope they make this soap forever!

Great for washing clothes in the washer & for spot treating
As other reviewers have said, this is a great spot treatment. However, they're working too hard! I just put a bar in a pitcher with hot tap water and let it dissolve as much as it will, to create a saturated solution. I use an old toothbrush and this solution for spot treating, and I pour 1-4oz of this liquid soap into the washing machine as a great detergent substitute! (I also add 1 T. of washing soda + Borax combined)It's cheap, easy, and effective.

Best detergent EVER--
I am a cloth diapering momma and have a limited selection of detergents that I can use with my cloth diapers. I can't use anything with dyes, perfumes, enzymes or whiteners. So products like Tide and Method are out for us. So I found Nellie's and did a little research and found that it is all natural and has none of the yucky stuff in it that we can't use and therefore it is the PERFECT detergent for cloth. It causes no build up that could lead to odors and diaper rash and it rinses clean every time. One spoonful (spoon is provided) will clean an entire large load of laundry and it is HE friendly, we have a top loader and it still works wonderfully. And the packaging is SO CUTE (and eco friendly)!After I found how great it is with cloth diapers, I had to try it on our clothes. So, I started with the smelliest thing I could find (and was about to be thrown away because the smell stain was that bad) so I found my the shirt that my husband had left on the floor a few times...

Better than tide...I couldn't believe it!
Hi,I am a cd mama and I have really hard water. I have tried seventh gen, ecos, rocking' green, borax, washing soda, baking soda, vinegar, everything... Prior to this tide was the only thing that got our diapers and clothes the closest to clean. This stuff is great. I even use it our clothes and on dh shirts it's the only thing that gets the deodorant out of his shirts and actually gets them clean. I do use two full scoops but it's totally worth it. It's awesome! My diapers(and clothes) are the cleanest they've been... Probably ever (i was going to say since we lived somewhere with normal water but i think they are cleaner than that). Fwiw: My cloth diaper stash consists of bamboo, hemp, organic cotton, fleece,and microfiber, prefolds, pockets, fitteds, covers, and wool. I say this only because I was reading reviews I wished people would say what kind of diapers they used. Best of luck!

Awesome Laundry Soda
I was skeptical when I bought this on a recommendation from another website; but I absolutely love it, and am placing another order today since I am running low. It lasted forever, it seems, as it takes so little and cleans so wonderfully. My daughter suffers from eczema, and this product has made a real difference for her. I also use Nellie's Dryer Balls, which are wonderful too. I highly recommend this, especially if anyone in your household suffers from skin problems.

Please read my comments on N4AØF, seems like all of his comments are Ø or 1*.We do have 8 indoor pets and one got away by tearing the screen in our lanai, returning covered with fleas. Luckily 90% of the living area of our home has hard wood flooring with the exception of one bedroom (carpeted). The Vet. Prescribed Frontline® Plus and suggesting the use of a box of "20 mule team" Borax, for the carpeted area & everyone's bedding. We are flea less in less than a week. I also recommend this product for your washing machine, dishwasher and sinks plus many other uses.

CHEAP laundry booster that deodorizes and whitens without bleach
I fell for the hype by Oxyclean and paid $18 for a large bucket hoping I would have fresh smelling laundry and sparking white whites. I was disappointed with the results.One time I was shopping at local grocery store and I happened to see 20 Mules Borax on the shelf and was reading the box and curiosity was piqued and since it was only 3 dollars for the box, I thought no harm in trying in my laundry. Well, after several washes with noticeably fresh smelling laundry and definitely noticeable white towels with no bleach being used, I was sold on this product.I highly recommend in using this product. Previously I also used baking soda with my laundry detergent to get the smell out and it did not work as well as Borax.I use Borax as laundry booster with one of those ecogreen liquid laundry detergents.

Great for laundry, no irritating perfumes !
My laundry, white and colored, comes out nice and bright, without need for bleach. No irritating and annoying scent to make me sneeze.I dont use any other detergent. Best prices at Walmart and Shoprite. You may have to ask for it, sometimes it's not very visible.

never using any other detergent again
As a parent of 2 and cloth diapered both, I do 2 loads of laundry a day if I'm lucky. It lasts longer for diapers because I only use 1/4th scoop for diapers and 3/4th scoop for clothes. I don't smell anything when I take everything out, so I throw in some fabric softener in the wash and Nellie's dryer balls in the dryer, my clothes come out so soft every time. and at .10-.12 a load it's reasonably cheaper then the detergent I was using previously

Whoa Nellie! This is good stuff.
As a germaphobe, I used to dump an excessive amount of harsh detergents in the wash. In an effort to be kinder to the environment and reduce the chemicals in my household, I decided to give Nellie's a try. I was skeptical that a powder with so few ingredients would get the clothes clean--especially if I only used a tablespoon. Holy cow, it actually works!The only difference I can tell between clothes washed in Nellie's and clothes washed in Tide is the smell. Tide leaves a very strong fragrance that lasts a while; Nellie's leaves a light, clean smell that fades faster. So I threw some dryer sheets into our dresser drawers to keep the clothes smelling sweet, at least until I have time to make some sachets.I did run one load of extra sweaty exercise clothes that came out smelling funky and had to be rewashed. I wonder if Tide used to get rid of the sweat or just cover up the smell. Who knows? I'm sticking with Nellie's!I didn't keep count, but I think...

Pretty good stuff.
I bought this awhile back when Amazon was out of my usual Country Save detergent. It's good stuff, but I don't feel that it clean my daughter's cloth diapers as well as Country Save. I did use it on some of my husband's stinky running clothes and it worked well...got out all the nasty sweaty odor so I can definitely recommend it for regular laundry. It's pretty concentrated too---lasts for a long time, good value.
