Shaq Attack!
I love the 'Steel' comics and even though this film isn't 100% faithful, it was still fun. Don't get me wrong. It's terrible. But it's so good-hearted, I found it endearing. It's like watching one of the 'Ernest' movies. Show it to your elementary-age children. I'm sure they'll like it. For Superman fans, I must say this film is better than 'Superman IV' and script-wise, even better than 'Supergirl' though with a much lower budget.

A good quality steel for the money
This steel is very nice for the price. The length is fine for nearly any knife and the material itself is of a suitable hardness for correcting cutting edges. The handle is easy to hold, and it has a nice heft and balance. Exactly what I would expect from a Henckels product.Now, a brief clarification: A steel will absolutely not "sharpen" your knife. It doesn't have a grit so much as the steel used is much harder than the knife. (If you have a dull edge you can run it along the finest steel for hours and not get a sharper cutting edge.) What it does do is simply correct the angle of the knife's edge that tends to get bent to either side during normal use. When you run the leading edge of the knife down the steel in the correct manner, a sharp edge should go back to the appropriate angle. If you have a dull blade, you need to hone a new edge. (For that you may consider using a professional sharpening service. this can be a little tough for a novice...sorry!) Once that is...

REMINDER: Sharpening steels are of extremely fine grit - use to KEEP the blades sharp... the finishing touch, if you will. To repair a blade with significant damage, you'll need to get a sharpening stone.All in all, this sharpening steel is as advertised: the Henckels name, solid construction, nice grip.The sharpening steel will probably last longer than I will.

Terrific , action filled movie
I took my grandson to see this movie. Wondering how much I was going to hate this "transformer" type movie. I had already spend years on transformer toys with his dad.Being his grandmother I also wondered how much fun it would be for him. Well it was nothing like transformers. It was so much better. My grandson was up and down in his seat througout the whole movie and we were high - fiveing in the theater. Great movie for young boys and grandma's alike.

The best - action for husbands and a tear jerker for wives
Technically a Sci-Fi movie, this movie is really a story of a father redeeming his relationship with a son he never knew, and of the character change that occurs in the father throughout the movie. The story is very well told, drawing you into the characters experiences, and although my wife loathes Sci-Fi movies, she loved this movie and cried during some scenes. It's got a lot action in it as well and is fun to watch. I do not watch many movies twice, but I'll be buying this movie and we'll be enjoying it repeatedly. The robot they prepare together serves as a device for a David and Goliath storyline as well. Hard to believe when reading this, but you'll be cheering for the father and son and their robot as well.

Mix Rocky with Paper Moon, add in robots, and voila! A really fun, highly enjoyable hit of a movie
Real Steel, directed by Shawn Levy, is one of the very few movies I've seen in recent years where the audience I was in actually broke into applause in various scenes. A masterfully done tale of underdogs - a boy and his dad and a discarded robot - going against the odds, it really does get you pumped up to that level. I got a bigger kick out of this movie than I have from any other this year. It really is that much fun to watch.The germ idea for Real Steel comes from a 1956 short story by Richard Matheson that was made into a classic Twilight Zone episode, and the look is right out of the Transformers franchise, but the heart - and there's a lot of it in this film - comes in equal measure from two films one would ordinarily have never linked together: John Avildsen's boxing classic Rocky (1976) and Peter Bogdanovich's Depression-era con-man & kid road trip classic Paper Moon (1973).The plot is set in the not so distant future of 2020, where human boxing...

Yes Finally a Danielle Steele Novel that is GOOD!!!
After DS last few books which were terrible, Hotel Vendedome was the worst, Danielle Steele finally writes a good one!!! This was more in line with her earlier works. We has a well thought out plot, and characters that you actually cared about. Talle is a well known director who places her life and money in the hands of two trusted employees. When she finds out that these two trusted "friends" betray her in some horrible acts, Talle must set out to redefine her life. Along the way she must make some decisions to part ways with Hunt and Bridget and that is the heart wrenching part of the story. Without giving away the plot to much, you will find yourself shocked at some of the events that occur along the way. The character development is great and Talle, Max and Jim are three well written characters..that you will actually root for in the end.Much like Danielle Steels earlier work, this one is a page turner and you wonder did she actually write this one since her last few...

Betrayal Novel by Danielle Steele- Fantastic, fantastic, fantastic
I read this book overnight. I could not put it down. I was sitting on the edge and nearly cheated, although I did not do that. It really is a great novel by this wonderful Author. I have read all Danielle Steel's books and this is my 3rd favorite of all. My first is The House, My second is Hotel Vendone and my third is Betrayal.I am eagerly waiting for her next novel. I wish she would bring out some movies from these novels again.

My Knives Are Calling To Me to Cut Something!!
Wow - I read an article in Family Handyman about sharpening your own knives. They recommended starting out with the Wüsthof 2-Stage Knife Sharpener, then finishing with a sharpening steel.So... We've had knives that I've tried to sharpen before but didn't know how. Was a pain in the butt. So we kept getting new knives. Now we have a drawer full of them.I bought this steel and the 2-stage sharpener, pulled a dull knife out of the drawer, and about 5 minutes later the thing was SHARP! So I kept going, and now we have a drawer full of super sharp knives that are a PLEASURE to use.The secret here is to use the carbide part of the 2-stage sharpener for really dull knives. Run it through enough times 'till it "catches" on your fingernail when you slide it down (perpendicular, not parallel...). Then go to the ceramic part and slide the knife 10 or so times. Both are set up so the knife is held at the correct angle.Finally, pull out...

In trying to explain what a honing steel does try to imaging your sharpening steel and your toothbrush. It is a maintaince tool that you use everyday. In the case of your knife this would be maintaining the knifes edge. Now eventually you would need to see your dentist. That would be a sharpener. This would be a more detailed and agressive action and they would actually remove metal from the edge of the knife. Much like a dentist would do to your teeth. Not all steels are the same!
A lot of people assume that all sharpening steels are the same. That is not true.I've owned this sharpening steel for about 6 years. It replaced a steel I had been using for about 20 years. I usually hone my knives between every use. With my previous steel, it typically took 4-10 swipes to restore a razor edge, with occasional resharpening using an alumina (corundum) stone; with this steel, I can get the same razor edge in 1-2 swipes, and never need to use the stone.This is consistent with some hardness measurements I've seen on the web, which indicated that Wusthof sharpening steels were significantly harder than those from other major manufacturers, including their closest competitor, Henckels.There is one downside to this steel: the steel itself only extends about half an inch into the plastic handle. Wusthof 10" Steel
Some argue all steel's are the same, others say they aren't. I tend to believe they are all basically the same. Regardless, many want a steel that matches the brand and quality of their best knives, as I did. This 10" steel does exactly what it is supposed to however I am disappointed in the quality of the handle. I spent the extra money for the brand name and expectation of quality. The handle appears to be cheaply made, not attached well, and even the famous Wusthof logo was applied crooked. bummer.
