Don't let the price deter you!
My 5 month old daughter LOVES her Sophie the Giraffe toy! This toy is absolutely wonderful in every way. Sophie is made of soft rubber and makes a pleasant-sounding squeak whenever any part of her body is squeezed, so even a young baby can elicit a reaction from the toy with minimal effort.I don't know what it is about Sophie, but whenever my daughter plays with her, she gets very vocal and talkative.I saw another review which referred to this toy as "a glorified dog toy". That reviewer is mistaken, and simply doesn't realize the value of this toy.- Sophie's body, while soft, has several areas of thicker rubber (the nubs on her head, her ears, and her feet) which are perfect for teething babies to gnaw on for relief.- Sophie's contrasting colors (spots) are visually stimulating to a baby.- She is easy to grip given her long, thin neck.- This toy is made of 100% natural rubber and uses food-grade paint (SAFE!).- This is a...

I can see why the kids like this...
We just got this for our infant, and I couldn't help but give it a bit of a test chew, myself. Now, I obviously don't have a huge deal of experience (or, memory, rather) with teething toys, but this is good stuff. Very satisfying to bite on. I'm thinking of getting a second one for myself to use in the office to deal with stress. Much better than my kid's silicone pacifier, which I've also tried.My only complaint is that the giraffe appears to have fluorescent lip stick, which is a bit disconcerting to see in a giraffe, even a French one.

Great Toy
Product is just as it looks. I bought it for my 7 month old and she loves it. It did smell a bit like vanilla the first day but not so much after that and that is fine because that is not why I bought it.

best teether out there
After trying teether after teether (you know those ones filled with water or gel that you can get at the grocery store for a few dollars) with no luck, we decided to try sophie. Our son has loved it every moment:-Easy to hold; his little fingers can grab the curved part plus the legs so it makes it much easier than those bulky teethers to grab and hold onto.-Easy to chew; the teething surface is flatter and therefore easier for him to put in his mouth. The variety of shapes means he can use it to teeth on the front or in the back near his molars.-Lots of textures;-Easy to cleanWhile the price is more than other teethers, this is by far the best designed and to me, worth every cent. When we're out we attach it to a pacifier clip so if our son drops it it's not lost!

My son loves this
I bought this as a nice quiet alternative to the original Sophie (which he also loves). We wanted a good teether that we could take to church and restaurants without annoying everyone around us and that we could easily wash. My son has had this for ~4 months now, and it's still one of his favorites. I would definitely recommend the Sophie products.

Best Baby Teether
My daughter LOVES this giraffe. She's 6 months and has been chewing up Sophie since she was about 3 months. She likes to chew on her face too! The rubber is soft on her gums unlike the hard plastic teethers and Sophie is pliable so she can move and manipulate her easily. She smiles when Sophie squeaks!The only drawback is that it closely resembles a dog toy so our dogs are always aware of where Sophie is because they as well would like to chew her up! Our pretty aggressive chewer did get ahold of her once and she survived so she's one tough Giraffe!If Sophie gets wet the squeaker will stop working temporarily - just let her dry out and she'll start squeaking again!This is our go to baby shower present now! I'm a bit of a shopaholic and have tried ALOT of baby products out, this is by far our favorite (so far)!

Sophie is very cute. Granddaughters love them. They are expensive, but I search for toys for our little ones that are NOT made in China and do not have nasty paint or other toxins in them. The parents want safe fun toys for their babies.

Must have!
Every parent I know who has a Sophie absolutely loves it! I give it to all of my friends for baby shower gifts. My daughter is just over 3 months old and loves her Sophie. Not only is it a great teether, it's also useful for younger babies (like mine) who can suck on it.

Easy For Baby *and* Me
This is a nice small size so I can stick a Sophie in my purse. It's also a lot easier for my 4-month-old to grip and hold on to. He is wanting to stick everything in his mouth but can't really navigate the full-sized Sophie as well yet, although he loves that one, too. As the previous reviewer noted, the non-squeaking is good because of the dog. Also good for a dog-owner: the rubber doesn't attract dog hair the way the silicone teething rings do. Good addition to the Vulli Sophie line.

better than the original sophie
my 5 month old loves this sophie. it's small and light and very easy for him to hold and chew. i've gotten him other teethers but this is the only one he likes. this is great for younger babies and their tiny hands and mouths. other teethers, especially the round ones, don't fit in my LO's mouth very comfortably but this little sophie fits perfectly in my LO's mouth. it's a little pricey but i'd rather have one good teether that my son loves rather than a bunch of less expensive ones that he doesn't use.

This was not the vanilla Sophie!
I have the original Sophie and my son loves it so I decided to get him this one to see if he liked the scent/flavor. Well, I was highly disappointed that the one I received was neither scented or flavored. Nonetheless, my son loves this one just as much. It's actually easier for him to handle and since it is more firm than the original Sophie I think it helps him when he really want to gnaw on something! I attach it to one of those pacifier clips so that it is always with him. An added bonus is that it doesn't squeak! Even though it's not scented/flavored it's still a big hit!

Baby will love!
My daughter is almost 4 months old and starting to gum everything. She mostly wanted my fingers. I tried a couple other teethers, and she really didn't have much interest. That's when I started researching. I came across Sophie the Giraffe. The reviews were outstanding, so I thought I would give it a shot. I came across this double pack at Amazon that included Sophies cousin (that's what we call her). I am so glad we did. Every time I show her Sophie, she beams! She loves both of them. Pie is a bit smaller than Sophie. I was pleasantly surprised how soft they are. Baby can squeak them with ease. You won't be disappointed. Plus Sophie has been around since 1961. I look forward to buying Emerson more Vulli toys.

Just what the boy needed
As my 5 month old grandson began teething, he would become frustrated in his infant kind of way not to find the relief to the itching and hurting in his little gums. Now he is happy chewing and mouthing his Sophie at the day care and Chan Blue at home. He loves the squeak and the relief he receives from these. His mama even keeps Chan Blue in the freezer after washing it at night to give him a cool treat in the mornings. It was definitely a great solution.
