Good Salmon
Not everyone has the same expectations for smoked fish. Some people prefer it smoked to a crisp; other people prefer smoked fish that is nearly raw. The folks at Seabear seem to have found a good, in between, place.I've used this product several times and have always enjoyed it. The salmon is smokey and flavorful, flakey, firm, and tasty. The salmon ships in foils pouches, each containing a couple of ounces of salmon oil. You can pour it down the drain if you prefer a drier fish (but that's a lot of good omega-3 fatty acids to waste). Used in salmon pasta with a little olive oil, sundried tomatoes, and a little black pepper (let it sit over night in the fridge for the flavors to mix) it is a summer favorite. If you like your smoked salmon moderately moist, yet firm, Seabear is a good choice. Top to learn more

I've ordered this a few times for myself and as gifts, and it's always appreciated. First I thought it was to wet
There was a lot of liquid in the pouch and the fillet seemed soggy and wet. I bought four of them without trying them first so I figured I'd screwed up. But then I broke off a piece and ended up making a squealing pig out of myself, oh my. The wet slimy little fillet was the best tasting SSS I've ever tried. It was so good I ate the whole thing after dinner, GLADIOLAS!I'll de-package and weigh the next one to see if they tared the liquid. I'll buy it no matter anyway. Even people that don't have a taste for smoked salmon/ sockeye might like this, very mild and extremely flavorful. It's the alder wood I think. Top to learn more

Good Value and Quality
I purchased two different brands of smoked Salmon. This one was a little less expensive and very tasty, but it doesn't compare to fresh smoked salmon, that you can get from a quality grocery store. I would recommend this product, but now know I can only buy fresh salmon. Not salmon packed in a way that will remain good for a year or two, as this product will. Top to learn more

Great product, great company
I ordered this for my brother for Christmas. I have not had a lot of smoked salmon, but he loves it, so I was going in w/ little experience.The first associate I spoke with very graciously explained the differences between wet and dry smoked salmon---all news to me---and how his product was prepared and packaged. I ordered it and yes, it was a huge hit with my brother. He said it was excellent.In the meantime, I had mistakenly placed a second order in ordering other things from Amazon. My fault. I notified Amazon, and notified Alaska Smokehouse, and was immediately sent confirmation that the second order had been deleted. However, I did receive the second oder of smoked salmon, although it never showed up on my credit card statement.I called Alaska Smokehouse to ask how to return the second order and they graciously said to keep the salmon, and please enjoy it as a thank you for being a customer.The same brother had a birthday in... Smokey and Natrual
This smoked salmon comes in a sealed, metalized pouch. There are two pouches in the pretty cardboard box. Each pouch needs to be refrigerated when opened, but the unopened (second) pouch keeps at room temperature. Each pouch contains nearly a whole fish. It is filleted and boneless, but it still looks like a fish. The skin is on one side. I like the skin and it is totally edible. If you don't want the skin, it is easy to peel off. Thus, you can serve the fish flesh side up, or skin side up, depending on how you want it to appear. The fish is smoked and flakey. It is NOT like some smoked salmon or lox sold in grocery stores -- which comes in thin, bright "salmon colored" slices. This fish is not sliced, but flakes very easily, a bit like a high quality canned tuna. I find it great for sandwiches, but you have to smoosh it down on the bread with a fork or it will be too thick. Wash your hands and chow down!
I don't really have much to say because as soon as the package arrived and we unwrapped it we made short order of the contents! Seriously, though, we ordered this product because the variety of 3 different tastes whetted our appetite and the price plus shipping was very reasonable. We still carry the memories from the 1980s when a friend visited Alaska and sent us a similar product and once we opened the package and tasted it, there was no going back. We finished a large fillet of Alaskan smoked salmon in minutes! We did the same with this product and it became difficult to select a favorite taste as all three were mouth watering.
