Excellent Choice!
I purchased one of these screens after reading other reviews on line. I was very pleased when I received the first one and had to order three more! I am using them for a spa party that I am hosting at my home and when I set them up to see how they would work, I was excited!. They are well made and provide the privacy for my guests that I need. I can even use them as home decor when not in "spa" use. Great buy for the price!

Got tired of cruising craigslist for used versions of these room dividers, so ordered a new one off amazon.it worked well in obscuring the Christmas holiday mess that occupied a large corner of my living room and i have some ideas on a permanent place for it.the 'paper' is surprisingly sturdy looking and almost clothlike.the hinges allow folding in both directions.lattice is only on one side.painted black wood frame has almost a molded-plastic look to it up close (better from afar).some warping in wood frame (and lattice) on two of the panels. Again, only really noticeable up close, at certain views from the side, and when the divider is folded up (ie, not in use).overall, content with purchase, the product, and the shipping.

Mine arrived in perfect condition via FedEx. The screen/divider does a great job of partially separating my dining area from my kitchen, and also hides my wastebasket from view. Beautiful screen for the price
This screen looks exactly the same as ones I've seen in retail stores for more than twice the price. As with most inexpensive Shoji screens, the material is thin and you need to be careful when moving it. As long as you're careful to always grab by the wood, and position it somewhere where no one will put a fist through it, it's not a problem.Also, like other inexpensive screens, the material is all on one side of the wood pattern. That means that it looks much nicer from one side than the other. You'll find the same is true of all mass-produced Shoji screens, though.The hinges are bi-fold, giving a lot of positioning flexibility. I have one positioned in a corner with a couple of cheap lamps behind it, which gives a nice diffuse ambient light.Note that the cherry finish is a bit darker than shown in the picture. As beautiful as it is functional...
I ordered the Polaris shoji screen from Legacy Decors in cherry. It came pre-assembled, packed tightly in a strong, but unpadded box. It arrived in near perfect condition, with two tiny dents in the wood--nothing bad enough to merit a return.The four panels are connected by lightweight, yet sturdy, screwed hinges that leave ~1-cm spaces between the panels when opened to their widest standing position. It opens as wide as 68 inches across while standing on its own (that's wider than pictured). It can be stored upright in floor space as small as 17x8 inches without having to lean it on anything. At 13 lbs, the screen can be moved and carried with ease.I doubt it would withstand being banged around too much without getting damaged, but seems solid enough for its intended use. Definitely one of the best buys I made this year.

Beautiful Room divider
I have a very large living room area and I purchassed the room divider to create a space at the back for a sewing area without putting up a permanent wall. The room divider is really beautiful and I get a lot of compliments on it. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the panels aren't stable unless you put the divider in a short zigzag. I was expecting a longer divider given it is 4 panels. I have made it work for me and I like the mobility you get with these screens.

Nice (but fragile) screen divider!
I was hesitant to purchase something so fragile, but it's a beautiful room divider, and it arrived in one piece. The paper is super fragile, and I am still afraid I'll put a hand through it. It's also very lightweight, so I am afraid of the wind knocking it over. However, it was packaged well, and it looks beautiful! Currently using it to separate my bedroom area from my living area in my studio. I love how it looks with natural sunlight against the back! One of the less expensive ones I found, but not cheap looking at all.

Perfect!
Looks fantastic as a decoration or a room divider. I chose this for my office that I decorated with an asian theme and it fit perfect. As all the other reviews say, the paper is very delicate but it does not take away from the quality of the product. The plums on the screen are very bright red so don't expect a "plum" deep red color. Otherwise, its a great buy!

Simple design, solid construction, and hinges that swing both ways!
This screen is fantastic! I'm not sure what to call the double-jointed feature, but I really appreciate it when I'm vacuuming. We use this to set off part of the living for my teenage son, and it gets moved around a lot, so I can tell you this thing is sturdy--my baby uses it to steady himself as he tries to get around it.

Asian room divider
I'm very pleased with these room dividers. I was looking all over town for this piece of furniture, and to no avail, could not find the one I wanted to fit my room's motif, could not find a divider within my budget, and my choices were VERY limited. It's everything I'd hoped it would be
No assembly needed. Just take it out of the box and put it to use. The hinges of each panel bend both ways. The screen is lightweight enough to easily move around from place to place, but also well constructed. The faux rice paper allows light through, but people/solid objects cannot be seen through it. This quality of completely obscuring direct visibility was very important to me because in my new rental unit, someone standing outside my living room window can see right into both my bedroom doorway and my bathroom doorway (and unfortunately, the shower door is in plain view when looking in through the bathroom doorway). With the divider screen strategically placed, I can now move between my bedroom and bathroom (including the shower) without being seen and without having to shut the doors or close the blinds. For maximum stability, I recommend keeping the two middle panels straight and bending the outside panels in opposite directions (i.e. one forward and one backward). I...

Perfect!
This screen is just right for hiding the junk in the corner, or closing off part of a large room to make it cozy. The stain on the wood frame is beautiful. The rice paper lets the light come though so you do not get that closed in feeling. Easy to move from room to room. And the price is right.
