Great Pasta - Good price with subscribe and save
Product Quality: De Cecco pasta is the best widely available commercial pasta. If you want better pasta, you'll pay through the nose or you'll make it yourself. It is a step up from Barilla (which does not make Orecchiette), and cooks up a little differently. It tends to be a bit creamier without loosing its firmness. Orecchiette is a wonderful summer pasta that is perfect with broccoli and sausage.Value: For some reason, the De Cecco pastas are all different prices. Product Description
Orecchiette, also known as "strascicati" or "strascinati", are the most typical pasta cut of Puglia. The shape is a round disc and is slightly hollow in the middle. In Puglia, according to the homemade pasta tradition, the orecchiette were made with flour, durum wheat semolina and water. The small pasta chunks were "dragged" with the point of the knife forming a sort of shell and then turned upside down with the thumb tip. Since 1886 we have liked our pasta to be bronze drawn and slowly dried because we like it to fall into the plate full of taste, rough and always "al dente". Even though our taste has not changed, as we feel the same love for tradition, we have continued to improve our production technologies. Top to learn more
