Gorgeous gigantic hat
This hat is a fashion statement- when they say this has a wide brim, they really are not kidding. It's HUGE! It's also really well made and frankly a steal at $38, I bought a smaller straw hat with minimal trim on it in New Orleans for well over seven hundred dollars. And I don't think it has the same WOW factor as this hat.The hat comes a bit folded up in the box, but shakes out and is very easily shaped for just that perfect swoop. My head is pretty big (about 23" around) and this fits pretty well, it's just a bit snug. It is pretty heavy, and after about an hour or so, my neck actually started to hurt a little. I just need to build up my muscles, because this hat is worth a little bit of pain.

I bought this hat (and the hat with a 10-inch brim) and it's great! Provides a lot of shade (even on the shoulders) and is easy to travel with (because you can roll it up and it'll pop back into shape over time). Con: it can be a little flimsy/sloppy at times, so it won't hold its true shape for very long (due to it being able to be rolled up for travel purposes)...

I like it but
I like it but its a bit tighter than the other hats that I have bought from this company before. While I do have a lot of hair and LOOOONG I did expect my hair to fit under the hat without giving me a headache but it did not fit if my hair was worn with curls.

Gorgeous!
I bought this hat to make into a Kentucky Derby hat and needed a hat with definite shape, sun protection, and sturdiness. This hat fits the bill. It is a magnificent opaque black and has a soft but sturdy shape, as such, it will be my best derby hat as of yet.Be forewarned, it was little large on me. I have a smallish hat size and most "one size fits all" baseball caps are too large, this hat was as well.Sungrubbies was an excellent dealer. I called them prior to ordering to ensure it would arrive before derby day and as you can see, since I am reviewing on the 27th of April, it was far earlier than I had hoped. I ordered on friday and with standard shipping, I received it by Monday. Amazing when you think about it going from Cali to Florida in less than half of the projected time.All in All, I am VERY impressed with the hat and the company and WILL be doing business with them in the future. Best Sun hat EVER!!
I have fair skin, red hair and sunburn easily. I did not purchase this hat to be stylish but to protect my face. However, I have folks stop me on the street to compliment the hat. This is a large beautiful quality hat that is heavy enough to be substantial, and can be shaped in many different ways which I only discovered upon receiving. It can be designed into a beautiful picture hat, and worn for many occasions. I like how it holds it's shape. But, what I really want to comment on is the wonderful customer service. I ordered on a wednesday thinking that it would take at least a week to receive the hat. I also emailed the seller stating that my head is small and I would like some sizing tape sent with order. I received a response within hours. I was shocked when my husband brought in a box early Friday morning and it was the hat. Who ships that quickly w/o Amazon Prime.
