A very nice read!
I have slowly put on weight over the years and can't seem to shed it. I also have siberian huskies and live in a rural area. These two facts attracted me to the book.Like the French Women's Book, the one thing that struck me immediately was the author describes a lifestyle I used to live.Like her, I feel like I am wasting time on a treadmill. I go to meetings and everyone is buying low calorie snacks, cookies and trying to figure out what fast foods they can eat. I normally cook all my foods, use natural ingredients and feel bad if I try to follow 'canned diet advice'.I realized that I have 4 acres of woods and 4 siberian huskies. I have plenty to do without obsessing on what society is obsessing. The author recommends starting slow. Just walking each dog 15 minutes is an hour of pulling, balancing and fresh air. Carrying a few rocks a day to make a rock garden for herbs and picking up branches for Kindling... well, that's a real workout and I can...

Great quick read! Informative!
I thoroughly enjoyed this little book, which I read in an afternoon. The weight loss concepts in this book are simple, yet drastic. They are within reach to anyone. I really appreciated the part explaining how to begin exercising when you have small kids. I have little kids and getting that exercise in has always been a challenge. Thanks to the author, I now feel like it is possible.I also found the parts about hfcs and bht interesting - and disturbing. Good things to know, regardless! The author was relatable and easy to read. And hey, if she could do this with 7 kids, what's my excuse?

MAKES YOU THINK!!!
I read this in a day. Had a lot of good ideas and made really good sense. Great information too. Reminded me of the Atkins diet I went on years ago and lost a whole lot of weight. Now I'm a Senior and this sounds perfect, though it takes willpower. Giving up most of the things that I love like bread, cereal, milk....but it will be worth it in the end. I will try it, with some modifications of course, but all in all I will give it my best shot. Will let you know how it works for me!
