This is THE tick medicine for your dogs
We live on a golf course and started to have and infestation of ticks, that just got completely out of control. Nothing we put on the dogs that we bought at Petsmart would do any good. The vet gave us Frontline which failed miserably. I found a study on the comparison of Frontline vs. Advantix and found the Advantix had an efficacy of twice the killing/repelling power of Frontline. We bought Sevin granules for the grass and Sevin dusted the entire house and let it sit for 2 days before vacuuming and cleaning it up. Then we had the dogs groomed down to a buzz cut and put the Advantix on 2 days later and topped it off with a Preventic tick collar (found on Amazon). That was 6 months ago and we found maybe one tick the first week and NONE since. Hope this helps someone else with the same problem.

Fleas no more!
Last year was a bad one... the two dogs got fleas and were kind enough to share them with my home. Completely unwanted and an utter nusance (thanks for the thought pups!). Anyway, with diligent Frontline, flea baths and a house bomb or two (ok maybe three), we were finally flea-free after about 3 months. My advice... don't get the critters in the first place! Frontline Plus is my dogs religion! I will never skip a month or be without it again!

I have been using Frontline Plus on my 19 pound Scottish Terrier for 24 months. On three occassions she has developed a flea problem in between application times. The most recent being last week. Her flea application was Nov 7, 2010 and not due again until Dec 7, 2010. However, after developing a flea problem last week, I had to bathe her and put on a new application Nov 22.
