Gymboss helps intensify my workouts!
I had been doing tabata exercises before and thought I was doing great until I got my timer. The intervals keep me on schedule so much better than watching a clock. I can put my efforts into my routine and not in clock watching and I can tell I am doing so much more intense workouts now. The new black color is great- soft feel to the finish. I keep it clipped to my pocket edge and don't have to keep looking at it-it beeps to tell me when time is up. I would give the gymboss a 5 Star rating.

GREAT NEW MODEL
I really like the stronger vibrate mode on this black Gymboss for when I'm in the gym and don't want to use the beep alert. The softcoat gives the timer more grip as well which makes it feel much more durable.

I love the timer. Absolutely awesome product. I would have rated this product 5-stars, but the included manufacturer's instructions are ridiculously awful. Luckily, I found instructions on the amazon.com site from another purchaser that he was kind enough to link. A real life saver.GymBoss would do themselves and their public a great service by either publishing (and including with the timer) a very good user sheet OR putting up a web page with all of the great uses for the timer and exactly how to take advantage of them with well thought-out instructions provided to help individuals achieve their fitness goals. Just a thought....

This is Cool...With lots of features
I do alot of Tabata Kettlebell and jump rope training and this little guy is great for that, You are able to set the minutes, seconds, hours, and you also can set two different training intervals at the same time!. This is great and your workouts can flow effortly. This timer has many good features, like the one just mention above, the newer vesion V2.0 has a stop watch feature, it will count your rounds automatically for you, but there's a manual feature if you want to count down yourself!. The bell is loud enough that if you'll playing your own music you can still hear it, The Gymboss is small but not flimsy and comes with operating directions, but what if you need more directions, you can actually go to the gymboss website and download more directions...but this timer is simple to operate and mostly likely you won't need it. The Gymboss can be free standing, but also does come with a handy built-in belt clip. The battery is also included...so this timer is ready to go right out of...

How did I ever live without this
I don't know how I ever lived without this timer! I teach interval style group exercise outdoors. The timer makes everything so easy and class runs more smoothly than ever. With interval exercise being one of the most time efficient effective methods of working out everyone should have one of these. Even walkers could benefit from using one. The only draw back is that the screen gets scratched up quickly.

Good things come in small packages
I'm pleasantly surprised at how small this interval timer actually is while at the same time having a large enough display to be easily read.The beeping alarm is very loud. If you read some of the reviews of some sport watches (quite expensive ones) that have interval timers, most of them mention the alarm not being loud enough.My favorite feature the Gymboss has though is the vibrating function. I run while listening to my MP3 so I set the alarm to vibrate instead of beep, and that is something you will never find in a sport watch that costs the $19.95 I paid for my Gymboss.If you're shopping for an interval timer, this is definitely the one to get.

The biggest value provided for me is the volume of the tone at the end of an interval. I've used other timers and in the middle of a workout it's nice to clearly hear the end of the interval.The other value is its size; easy to pop in a pocket or clip to your waist band without being noticeable.The interval set-up is a bit clunky (you really have to hold the buttons down) and due to the size its not especially easy to see times.If you are looking for an audible alert for interval training, this is great. If you need visual feedback this may not be ideal.

Nice little interval timer
Gymboss timer is an inexpensive little interval timer that works very well for the price. It's the size of a matchbox and it's easy to clip into the waistband or even collar of your shirt. The belt clip is very secure, so there is little danger of the timer slipping off you belt. It would have been a nice addition though if there were a strap that would allow you to fasten the timer on your upper arm or an exercise machine, for example. Another improvement would have been if the belt clip would rotate, so that the display screen would be facing you the right way, no matter how you carry the timer. And speaking of display, it could be bigger and/or have better contrast.The timer is plastic, and although it can stand being dropped to the ground, it would probably not take when stepped on, for example. They also market as water resistant but I would not use it with water sports, although it's not affected by the moisture if carried next to skin under clothing.The...

A product that does exactly what it says.
This item is wonderfully functional. First, it is the perfect size as it is small, but the screen is big enough so that I can read the numbers at arm's length. It also lets you know when your intervals are done quite well. When I run with headphones, I use the vibrate mode and it is enough for me to notice. When I am working out inside with loud music, I am able to hear its audible warning. I am surprised by it durability. I have had the Gymboss for a two months now and it has already fallen from my hand on my bike (I was setting and riding) and once it feel into a puddle and it still works great.The instructions aren't that great the first time you program it, so you may have to go to the gymboss website, but after the first try it is intuitive. Also, I worried when the shipping window was a few weeks out, but I got my timer in 4 business days.This timer does everything I need it to.

Great product!
I was worried when I received the invoice saying that it could take up to a month to arrive, but I shouldn't have worried: it came three days later via first class mail. It's much smaller than I expected--I guess I thought it'd be the size of a pager, but it's almost half the size, which is great. It takes one AAA battery, which isn't included. The instructions are clear and once you play with it it becomes very self-explanatory (easier to program than, say, a digital watch). The camo softcoat is great; I don't want to be bedecked in pink when I'm out running, so this is right up my alley.The only reason this didn't get more stars for me is that I find the "vibrate" option WAY too low. I run on the sidewalks in a city, so granted, I'm probably getting a little more shock/vibration with my stride than someone running on a softer surface, but I couldn't even feel it clipped to my waistband, even when I set it to a longer 5-second pulse. It's ok, because the "loud" option...

A basic wristband
This is a no-frills wristband that doesn't have a special compartment or enclosure for the Gymboss timer. It's basically a stretchy band, backed in Velcro, with a loop shackle that allows you to adjust the fit.If you own a Gymboss interval timer, you know it has a belt clip on its back. So you can clip it to your clothes, your iPod / MP3 player armband / wristband, whatever. If you want to do that then no, there's no point in you getting this strap.But if you don't like the idea of clipping this thing to your pants, don't otherwise use an armband / wristband, or if you want to be able to easily see your Gymboss's display, this wristband is the way to go. It's well worth the $3 I paid for it. The wristband is made of very high-quality synthetic fabric, with excellent-quality Velcro along its entire length, and a shackle end that makes a good fit quite easily. It launders nicely, stays put even when soaked in sweat, and isn't at all uncomfortable / itchy...

Ready to try something else
My local sporting goods store only carries these for round timers, so I've owned a couple. I'm ready to try another product. What I like is that it has both vibration and sound settings so I can use it clipped to my waistband for run/walk intervals or set on a table or other surface for shadow boxing. The clip is strong and mostly trustworthy. The arm band has never felt very secure for me, but I don't have real beefy arms to hang it on.What's disappointing to me are the power usage -- the loud bell does take a lot of current, there's no sliding lock button so I've had it turn itself on in my gym bag, and the settings buttons aren't as intuitive as my watch is. The other thing is the large glass LCD screen makes this a bit fragile. I knocked my last one off my waistband while changing and it did not survive the fall.
