Not cheap but convenient
You could put something like this together for much less than it costs but if you're short on time then these straps do the trick. I use them on all tall/heavy furniture that's at risk of toppling in an earthquake or if baby climbs on them. They come in enough colors that I can match them to to the furniture and they don't look too bad.

Great product, fast shipment!
I only gave this product four stars for ease of installation. It will get five stars if the straps actually work during an earthquake, but hopefully I will never have to find that out. Yes you can buy your own straps and screws, but the part that attaches to your furniture here is velcro actually sewn in a very strong manner to the strap. It was easy to install, and the fact the velcro is sewn on and not just stuck on gives added security to the overall strength of the strap. Yeah they're maybe a little pricey, but they're quick and easy to install, and I'd rather buy these than deal with all my broken possessions if a big quake does hit my area. I used them on bookshelves, file cabinet, dressers, bedroom set w/ mirrored headboard.. Fast shipping from Grady's Hardware too. Pretty happy overall.

Peace of mind
Bought these for Everything in our house that our 3 year old could climb on and tip over. Extremely easy and quick to install; all hardware is included. Very easy to detatch if needed. Great for a flimsy bookshelf - keeps our toddler safe
Used this to tether a cheapo tall bookshelf to the wall so our toddler wouldn't pull it down on himself. Works like a charm. Now he can grab his books out of the shelf in his little reading corner without us worrying about the shelf toppling down on him.

Lived up to the hype - cool product.
I try to filter out the hype that sometimes ends up in reviews on this site - but the reviews on this product seemed to have a bit of truth to them so I ordered them. I am very impressed; these really do help out.One of the biggest challenges I often have when working around the house is moving large items by myself. My wife is always willing to try and help but her will is sometimes larger than her muscles.Now, these make it much easier for us. Last weekend, we used these to move a washer and dryer from one end of the basement to the other. No problem at all. Before using these, I would have struggled to get this done but these straps made it very easy for her to help me and we got the job done quickly and probably much more safely. It was so easy I was almost laughing.Enough said... these lived up the hype. I'm very glad to own them.

Forearm forklift helped in a jam
Not to long ago I moved into a new home. I used the forearm forklift many times. I found it was ideal for moving big items, for example my 65" projection tv, which weighs roughly 350lbs. Without the forearm forklift it took 4 men to move, with the forearm forklift it took 2! The only downside to this product is using it to go up or downstairs with big items. It is not easy almost scary, I found it to be safer to not use the straps then pick them up after the steps.

Good, but not great
The forearm forklifts work very well for lifting heavy things (washers, dryers, couches, etc) on flat surfaces. When you try to go up stairs, the person on the bottom has an easy job, and the person going up at the top should probably have arms like Rocky. For going up stairs with LARGE objects, I actually have a product called "Shoulder Dolly".Forearm Forklifts are quicker for flat surfaces, but for going up stairs, you need something that goes over your shoulders.

repair wooden chairs in a matter of minutes!
I've used these to repair wooden furniture for over 5 years. They are easy to use, and no glue is necessary. The most difficult part has nothing to do with the product, but when repairing the rungs or backs and legs of chairs, you have to have every one aligned to push them or bang them together. I have found that using a rubber mallet is the best tool to use when doing this. If by chance it comes apart again, just use another piece perpendicular to the first, because the hole was too big to hold with just one. Again not the products fault. The repair was just let go for too long and the hole got larger as time went on. Excellent product, and highly recommended! I've bought many a chair falling apart and repaired them very quickly with this product.

No need to find the dried-out glue. Just use a strip of Mr. Grip, place over the open piece and drive together with the rubber mallet. Fixed as good or better than new.

One of my best baby purchases
Reviewed many furniture straps before I found these. Meant for earthquakes but also wonderful for active toddlers! We had an unstable shelving unit that frightened me every time our daughter even breathed on it. These straps are wonderful. Took about 15 minutes (and a drill) to attach to wall and seconds to attach to furniture. Lots of color choices available. The oak matched perfectly. Now the shelves DO NOT MOVE, not when I clean, not when our toddler walks by, not when she's pulled on it. I'm sure they'd be standing after an earthquake too! Purchased another pair in white for a bookcase because I was so impressed.

Install was easy; seems to hold well
We put this on a dresser in our infant daughter's room. As long as you have a stud finder and a drill the install is pretty straightforward. It hasn't been stress tested by our daughter climbing on it, but I think it should hold fine.

Seem to work very well, but beware--they are permanent!
I used these to childproof a large bookcase in my living room, and they seem to do the job--after installing them, I tugged on the bookcase and they held up fine, although I didn't put my full weight into it. They feel much more heavy-duty than some of the straps sold at baby stores. My only gripe is that the advertised fact that they do not require drilling holes into furniture is a bit misleading, although technically true, because you still have to damage the furniture. They are mounted with a very permanent adhesive--the manual actually states, "the straps are now a permanent part of your furniture". Therefore, I would recommend these only for very tall items, where heavy duty straps are needed but cannot be seen easily.

It is simple to install. However, you need the right tools to do the job - drill, screw driver, socket wrench, etc. The direction could be better by providing more pictures or diagrams. I guess if you use the Velcro instead of the screws, you could not reuse the straps.
