BEST EVER!!!
I was so happy to find this product since my son has a severe egg allergy, but I was a little skeptical at first. How well could it possibly work to flavor and bind food? Well, it's AWESOME!!!I've used it in baked goods like muffins and cakes and it comes out perfectly. This year I used it in our pumpkin pies and everyone in the family said it was the best they've tasted. Also did some french toast with it. Even though the box says you can't make "scrambled eggs" with it I thought it wasworth a try since I just needed to dip them in the egg, milk mixture. Well, needless to say, we had to buy more breadbecause we wanted to have french toast again the next day. =)

Excellent service and an even better product
To begin with I am a vegetarian and do not have eggs. My review will be in 2 parts1. For the seller: When I received my first package, it was damaged and the product spilled. On raising a complaint I was promptly provided a replacement and the overall service was courteous. Full marks to VitaCost2. For the product: Ener-G Egg Replacer is a blessing for all those who don't eat or bake eggs. I have already used it for chocolate cookies and cake and the results are far superior than anything else I have used so far. Definitely recommend this product.

Must Have
This is a must have in the kitchen for anyone who doesn't, or can't (i.e. allergies) eat eggs, and still wants to bake things. I'm a vegan, and I use egg-replacer all the time in my recipes. It's also just healthier than eggs, because it is plant based and doesn't have any cholesterol.

Excellent non-dairy egg replacement
I've been using this egg replacer for over a decade. First as a vegan and now just because I have a few friends allergic to eggs and it is easy to keep on hand. I prefer to use it in muffin, pancake and cake recipes that call for egg. I've used it both as instructed (combine with water first) and I've just sifted it with my dry ingredients and obtained excellent results. If you have a recipe for vegan cupcakes for example that tend to crumble, just add 1.5 teaspoons to the dry ingredients in your recipe and this just might fix the problem! Recently I found out that I have Celiacs and so I've also been using the egg replacer in gluten free recipes, also with excellent results!

Better than eggs in baking for many reasons: ease, money, safety, etc.
I LOVE THIS PRODUCT! Not just because I am allergic to egg yolks and this magic mix has me baking again, but because I cannot tell the difference between the egg-full and egg-free versions in baked goods. My hubby, who is not allergic to yolks, was my judge can and attest to that by gobbling up everything I make -- and he is a picky eater.I have used this in muffins, quick breads, pancakes, waffles, sponge cakes, boxed mixes, pound cake, cookies, scones, etc. All have turned out great!-- I just mix the required dry amount into my dry ingredients and add the water to the wet mixture before I combine them and it is very easy to use-- I feel good using it around my tiny daughter because if she licks the beater or bowl, there is no threat of Semonilla poisoning-- You get 113 servings in one box for $4.41, that is just .47 cents for a DOZEN egg-equivalent - this makes baking much more economical-- It is a painless way to bake vegan for the...

Good for egg allergy people...
My husband's deathly allergic to eggs. After using a baking cookbook that excludes eggs, I decided I wanted to give this a try. Overall, it is pretty good. Basically you mix some in a separate bowl with the recommended amount of hot water. And be sure to thoroughly mix so no lumps remain. I left lumps once and it ended up in the muffin and the lumpy spot tasted odd. Other than that, follow the instructions exactly and you get a powdery-smelling egg substitute. I used it in Betty Crocker muffin mixes and it turns out just fine! (Blueberry, choc. chip, etc) I tried it in a Betty Crocker brownie mix and I had to throw the entire thing out, it never thickened and was a gloppy mess. So for that recipe the eggs needed to be actual eggs!So if you want to do a quick boxed treat and can't use eggs for allergy/cholesterol reasons, I'd say try it. On the back of the box there's recipes for many different foods. I haven't tried them though. It's not perfect but it's good...

Good, but perhaps buying in bulk is a mistake...
This was the first egg replacer I used after I found out that my toddler was allergic to eggs. I have made everything from banana bread to pancakes and casseroles with it and everything has turned out perfectly...until this winter. Suddenly everything I made with the replacer tasted terrible to me, even when I opened a new package and threw out the old. I am not sure what the shelf life of this product is, but mine seemed to go bad within 6 months of purchase. I easily went through one package in that time, but there is no way I could have gotten through four packages! I would recommend this product, but only if you do enough eggless baking to get through all four packages within six months.

Works well to replace egg in recipes
I do a lot of baking and, since my husband doesn't eat egg, I've tried a bunch of substitutes. This is the best option I've tried so far. It goes well in cakes, tastes fine, and only makes them a bit denser. I just use an electric mixer a bit longer than usual and they rise almost as well as cakes with egg. The results vary by type of baked good, but it's never failed completely. Other than cakes, I haven't really noticed any difference when using this instead of egg. Pancakes were perfect. There is a bit of a soy flavor, but it hasn't made much of a difference to my family.

Works great for me, with modifications
I've been using this product for over a year, to bake for my egg allergic son. I've had excellent results when substituting 1 or 2 eggs in a baking recipe. However, I always DOUBLE the amount of Organ no-egg powder they recommend (the package says for each egg, use 1 tsp of orgran no-egg, and 2 Tbsp of water . . . I use 2 rounded tsp orgran and 2 Tbsp water) and I whisk it until it's nice and foamy.I've not tried using it for other cooking (custards, souffles, etc) so my review does not take those into account.

Eggcellent
Our son is allergic to eggs and soy. The egg replacer does a great job with his pancakes, birthday cake, and other baked things. It does not taste quite like an egg, but that was expected. The only downside is that we had to buy a case, instead of a single box to try it out.

Great for baking if you have food allergies!
This product is great when used in baking. I've been using this for the past 3 years and have made numerous batches of cupcakes, muffins, coffee cakes, birthday cakes, etc. My son has had severe food allergies for the past 8 years; none of his classmates even know that the baked goods I take to class are egg and dairy free! I do usually double the amount for each egg (2 tsp/2 Tablespoon of water) and I only use recipes that call for 1 or 2 eggs. You also need to use a whisk and whip the "no egg" with the water thoroughly until it is frothy and thickened, then mix it with the oil and other liquid then add to the dry ingredients. It works great; people are always asking me for my recipes using this stuff. :)

A Vegan's Best Friend
Whoever said healthy food does not taste good, never tried this stuff! I am a life long vegetarian but only started using nutritional yeast last year. This stuff tastes great and is so easy to use. I use it to make scrambled vegan eggs (with tofu). So many vegan recipes call for this stuff and I can see why. It's a powerhouse of nutrients and tastes like cheese!

Yummm
I've had nutritional yeast once before in the form of a "Mac and Chreese"-in-a-box product and loved it. While it wasn't as much cheesy as it was garlicky, I had high hopes that "nooch" could satisfy the instinctual human need for Velveeta-style "cheeze". I could never find it at a grocery store OR a health store so I finally ordered this on Amazon.Wow. Yeah, I said wow. I used this in a recipe for "Cheeze Sauce" that was fat-free and it was amazing. Plus it had tons of protein, fiber, and of course the illustrious vitamin B-12! There are other similar recipes that call for LOTS of margarine that sound even cheesier and richer. This bottle lasted me about 2 recipes with a little leftover for sprinkling, so if you're new to cooking with nutritional yeast this is a good size to start with. I've since bought a 22-oz container of a different brand, but this brand is just as good.In conclusion...buy this, make lots of cheeze/chreese or any intentional...

Where Can I buy Ener-G Egg Replacer

Trying to make traditional baked goods out of non-traditional (not to mention overly-processed, chalky, sandy, weird ) ingredients isn't going to be the way we go.  Our current priority:  eating hypoallergenic foods without trying to make them...  It didn't taste like the scones I'm used to though, and why would it.  I realized that if the Wedge's professional baking staff couldn't make something as delicious and familiar-tasting as a wheat-based scone than I certainly couldn't. ) ** To cook sweet potato :  The easy way is to dice a sweet potato, put in a saucepan, cover with water, bring to boil and simmer for 5-8 minutes more.  Moreover, I am extra lucky to be able to go to my cooking classes once a week, set all my food stress aside, work with the reliable ingredients I know and love best, and share my knowledge, experience, and wheat-and-egg-laden goodies with people...  We've experimented with gluten-free flour mixes and Ener-G egg replacer - the former saw some moderate success, the latter has a chalky aftertaste. With the gluten-free, egg-free banana-chocolate chip scone I ate from the Wedge on Sunday came an important epiphany. ) - 12 for my brunch class, 12 for simple vegan dinners, and 17 at last week's spring soups class - but have not had the time to follow up with them.  It's become an especially important outlet for me in the past few weeks as my in-home cooking has become more challenging (and, frankly, stressful).  There is a reason wheat and eggs are the basis of most Western baking. On the homefront, we are eating a lot of a few things: chicken, beef, sweet potatoes, soups, alterna-grain pancakes, cheese, yogurt, smoothies galore.  I've been trying out several new (expensive) ingredients in my efforts to accommodate my son's recently diagnosed food allergies.

This product has been a great replacement in eggs for many baked items. I highly recommend this product as an egg replacer for baked goods. The only difference I have noticed is that in items with a more subtle flavor there is a slight tapioca flavor provided by this product.

Most blueberry muffin mixes have some form of dairy in them (trust me, I’ve checked the ingredients of all mixes I’ve ever found. mg of trans fat (although they don’t have to report any trans fat under 0. ) vegan muffin mix. My only gripe is that it contains some hydrogenated oil (which = trans fat). I want to show people how EASY it is to cook vegan food.
