Good Quality, Small Price, Big Fun - Highly Recommended
My daughter (16) received a low quality Yo-Yo as a gift and started to do fairly well with it. It was clear from the start that Yo-Yo was not so well balanced and was not one that she would be able to to use to do a lot of tricks. She bought two Duncan Yo-Yo's, this one, the Imperial, and the .This Yo-Yo made a big difference from the cheaper one she had right away. Even my wife and I were able to do basic tricks with the Duncan Yo-Yos and my daughter is able to do some fairly cool things with it.This is a great low tech toy (no batteries required) that can still entertain kids. It has "passed the test of time".Highly Recommended!

Lop-sided yo-yo
I'm an 80 year old kid, and my 55 and over community is having a yo-yo contest on the 4th of July, so I ordered a Duncan Yo-yo, as when I was a true kid, they made the best yo-yo's.I made the mistake of ordering the least expensive, and am sorry I did so, as it's a terrible reflection on the name of Duncan. As with most things today, it is made in China, and they can't tell a lop-sided yo-yo if it stares them in the face. Walking the dog, the most basic of all the tricks, is impossible, as one side is larger in spots than the other. Likewise, the other side is larger than it's counterpart in spots, making for an impossible situation. I wouldn't recommend this item for any use, let alone trying to learn how to use a yo-yo.Obviously, I can't say it's much fun to use, but it is probably pretty durable, as it's all plastic. As an educational toy, if it worked properly, it would rate very highly, but as it doesn't work the way it should, it would be very hard...

It has been years since I owned our used a Duncan Imperial yoyo. I was wondering through the local Wally World store the other day and spotted them hanging there on a rack in all their glory. On a whim I bought three of them. They were only three dollars each and I figured why not.Over the past week or so I have been giving them quite a workout, driving both my wife and dogs crazy; which truth be told is sort of half the fun of it.Now I have several yoyos stashed around the house that I play with, some good, some better and some great. The intent of this review though is not to compare these yoyos as the prices of the ones I already own is significant.I found these Imperials to be just fine and dandy and they did the job they were suppose to do, which in reality is to provide an inexpensive pleasurable pastime for kids and big people, and to provide the initial yoyo exposure to see if the young ones actually take to the things before you lay out...

Looked like a used yo-yo when I opened the package because it was very scratched, but I like it anyway. I'm not worrying too much as it will get plenty of scratches when I'm doing tricks. Good thing the yo-yo wasn't a gift.

For the Price, Great Starter YoYo
The Duncan "Wheels" yoyo is a classic, and it's been issued by Duncan through the years several times. There are actually quite a few variations on the Wheels, from mag spokes to straight spokes, to hub-only. Also, the center comes with red or white plastic, sometimes the printing is in silver, sometimes in white, and not always on both side. Apparently even though not indicated, the one you get may not necessarily be the one pictured. I have 5 different variations of the Duncan Wheels, and who knows, there might be many more.For the price, this is a great beginner's yoyo. It's got nice weight, better than other yoyos in the same price range (or even slightly more) that simply have hollow sides. The weight helps the yoyo sleep a little longer. It's very well-balanced, and it has the classic butterfly style design, with a wider gap and flared edges. Pretty cool
Bottom line: probably the best yo yo I've seen from either me or my friends. It sleeps really well, and it shipped in very short time. The only setback that I found was that you can't open up the inside of the yo yo, so if there's a knot then you can't fix it. This is a really good buy, you get what you pay for. Oh yeah, the shipping is more than the product itself, so you'll be paying $9.00 for it total...

You Can Be a Pretty Good Yo-Yo with Some Practice
I bought this yoyo a few days ago and I cant stop playing with it! I love butterfly yoyos. But beware, I don't recommend them for beginners. I kinda got discouraged when it wouldn't do what I wanted it to do at first, but after a bit of practice, I'm pretty good with it now.

Fun with a FLASH
So this yo-yo will not only light up your life but also the room! What a fun toy. Bought this for my 11 year old son who's a yo-yo expert and couldn't wait until Christmas to give it to him and I'm so glad!He reports that it is an excellent quality yo-yo, slightly heavier than cheaper versions and that with the axle design it is very smooth to operate. THIS IS THE COOLEST
I have never been able to yoyo. i bought this as a stocking stuffer for my 6 year old. when we played with it, it was balanced already. it really teaches them how to yoyo. i even could do it. and the lights go off to let you know when you are doing it correctly. of course she dropped it a few times, but it works as great as the day she got it. we love it

Bumble Bee Yo-Yo great fun
My 11 year old son wanted a 'trick' yo-yo. This yo-yo is inexpensive and perfect for tricks - exactly what we wanted. While it may not be an 'educational toy', it does require persistance to master the tricks and provides a great sense of satisfaction. We also received it in an amazingly short time.

Impressive
These modern yo-yos are much improved over the classics such as the Imperial and the Butterfly. I'm an adult, avid Amazon.com shopper and am re-learning yo-yos The Duncan Bumblebbee is the best I've tried yet. I can't do tricks yet, but this one has a very because they are fun. This yo-yo has a smooth action and the sleep/spin time is fantastic. It does have a weird sound right before the yo-yo returns, but that might be the brake or is just spinning fast. So for that I give it 4 stars. Just under $9 here. When selecting a gift to a child, I recommend this one (the Bumblebee) or the Duncan Mosquito. For a few more $$$, you get a much better yo-yo than the classic Imperial or Butterfly. Those aren't bad, but invest a few $$ more and your child will like it better. It's a good, inexpensive toy, and for a child, they will learn concentration skills and hand-eye coordination.

Great Yoyo
The Bumble Bee is regarded as one of the best yoyos you can buy. Like all yoyos it takes a little getting used to - it's one of the lightest yoyos available - maybe THE lightest, so if you're used to heavier yoyos it will take a little getting used to. Also, because of the unique friction pads inside, it takes a little breaking in. But for the beginner it's very good - the lightness makes it less painful when it returns quickly to your hand. You can throw this thing all day without getting bruised - you can't say that with many other yoyos.This is a 'modified' shape yoyo, with rounded inner and outer edges and flat sides. It's good for loops and average for string tricks (better than a 'classic', but not as good as a 'butterfly'). Once it's broken in, it will sleep for a reasonably long time, but (in my experience) not as long as a heavier yoyo, such as the Team Losi 'Da Bomb'.

really good
i love this yoyo. it is all metal so it breaks strings alot because of its weight, so get more strings. i got a black one, in case the pictures confuse some of you. sleeps really good, the bearing started to click after a month so i bought more bearings. very easy for string tricks. metal isnt really for begginers but i was fine with it. seems small for offstring tricks but ive never tried it.great yoyo.

Surprisingly worth it.
Yo-yo madness has hit our elementary school. Although I was reluctant to spend so much on a yo-yo (seriously!?!), I ordered one for each of my two sons. The hours of fun (and sleeping, bow-ties, mouse, binding and other tricks) we have had merit the cost. They withstand a lot of abuse and spin like crazy. Our house highly recommends the Yomega Maverick!
