this buckwheat honey
I have purchased this same product from a couple of different places and find that each time I order it, the flavor is different and the texture of the honey is different. Sometimes it is more crystalized and sometimes more paste like and very thick. To soften, I microwave the bottle w/o the lid for about 20 sec. on high and it allows me to take a knife to it and mix it so that it is more spreadable. I like the strong flavor whether consistant or not....

Buckwheat honey is pungent in flavor with molasses and malty tones and a lingering aftertaste. Buckwheat honey is also very dark in color. As a general rule, darker honeys tend to be higher in antioxidant compounds than lighter ones. Because of this characteristic, darker honeys also tend to be higher in mineral content on average, as compared to lighter honeys. Some Honey
This a delicious honey. If you have not tried buckwheat honey before, you should. It is not as intensely sweet as traditional clover honey and has a mild almost sorghum molasses flavor. It has been a favorite in our house for years. Our local supermarket stopped carrying it, however, so we decided to try this brand. It is very good. It is not, as the title suggests, in bags, but 1 pound glass jars, which are just the right size to be able to finish it up before it starts to crystallize.

Buckwheat honey at it's best.
My doctor told me to get buckwheat honey and use it in oolong tea twice a day to help soothe a cough that was lingering on way past a cold had ended. I sometimes go into a temporary type of asthma after having a chest cold. My doctor's recommendation works very well. This is dark, very flavorful honey. Some may think it is too strong, but I think it's great; especially used to sweeten tea.

They don't seem to have a website but a search online suggests that they produce a variety of honeys including clover, orange, alfalfa, wildflower, blueberry, eucalyptus, avocado, star thistle and buckwheat. A quick look at wiki tells me that buckwheat is, in fact, not related to wheat at all (not being a cereal or grass) but related to sorrels, knotweed and rhubarb (I have no idea what knotweed is). According to Wiki, buckwheat plants grow quickly,... But back to my buckwheat honey.
